Project Objective
To conduct a high-resolution health inspection of high-voltage transmission towers using RGB and thermal sensors — with the goal of detecting structural and electrical anomalies such as insulator cracks, thermal hotspots, loose components, and foreign object interference.
Solution Deployed
Cosmo Technologies carried out a full aerial inspection campaign using:
DJI Matrice 300 RTK with H20T Thermal Payload (substituted due to equipment limitations)
Cosmo’s in-house AI image segregation & defect identification tool
Automated thermal deviation detection and classification based on standard performance thresholds
Post-mission analysis via the Cosmo AI Dashboard
Special focus was placed on detecting “reverse action” — a thermal anomaly where expected heat zones at insulator junctions appeared in reverse, indicating potential insulation faults or load imbalance.
